Mother Seeks Answers 10 Years After Indiana Woman's Death
“About to work this private party in case I go missing LOL.” That’s the text 23-year-old Angie Barlow sent the night she vanished. Ten years later, no one has been charged in her death.
On Oct. 26, 2016, Barlow, of Muncie, Indiana, got a text from an unnamed sender inviting her to dance at a private party in Indianapolis. Her mother, Christina Kramer, says she needed quick cash. Barlow gave her roommate the address in case something went wrong.
Around 3:30 a.m. the next morning, surveillance video caught Barlow’s blue Pontiac G6 leaving her apartment complex with a second vehicle close behind. Tinted windows hid whoever was inside. Police traced that car to a couple who hosted the party. They said Barlow left, and they were never charged. Her car turned up 12 days later, more than eight miles away, its interior in disarray.
On June 20, 2017, a tip led police to a body in brush on Indianapolis’ northeast side. The coroner identified it as Barlow the next day. Kramer says her daughter was shot. Months before the discovery, Kramer says, a woman who had been at the party called and asked if she wanted to know her daughter’s last words. The woman later denied making the call.
“She was full of life, full of energy,” Kramer told WTHR. Now she says the special prosecutor assigned to the case left the office and she hasn’t heard from prosecutors in about two years, she told Fox News.
IMPD says the case remains open, with Detective Jose Torres leading the investigation. The prosecutor’s office told WTHR it understands police are still investigating. Until someone talks, Barlow’s killer remains free. Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana anonymously at 317-262-8477.
