DR Power Equipment Recalls 42,860 Pilot And Premier Trimmer Mowers Over Grass And Debris That Can Accumulate And Ignite

DR Power Equipment Recalls 42,860 Pilot And Premier Trimmer Mowers Over Grass And Debris That Can Accumulate And Ignite

Generac Power Systems Inc., distributing under the DR Power Equipment brand of Waukesha, Wisconsin, has recalled approximately 42,860 DR Power Pilot and Premier Trimmer Mowers after grass and debris were found to accumulate inside the equipment and ignite during operation, posing a risk of serious injury or death from fire and burn hazards. The recall was announced October 8, 2026. DR Power has received 19 reports of incidents involving the trimmer mowers catching fire, including two reports of minor burn injuries — blisters on hands and feet. The mowers were sold at Ace Hardware, TSC, Bomgaars, and other power equipment stores nationwide.

What’s Being Recalled?

Eight model numbers of DR Power orange-and-black trimmer mowers are included — all labeled “Pilot” or “Premier” on the side of the frame, with the DR Power logo on top of the motor and frame. All serial numbers within each model are included:

T4X1076DMN, T4X1076DMNR, T4X1076DMNSD — DR Trimmer Pilot models
T4X1176DMN, T4X1176DMN-1, T4X1176DMNR — DR Trimmer Pilot models
TR43076DMN, TR43076DMNR — DR Trimmer Premier models

The model number is on a label on the side of the frame. The mowers were sold at Ace Hardware, TSC, Bomgaars, and other home improvement, hardware, and independent power equipment stores nationwide, and online at drpower.com, from November 2022 through July 2026 for between $380 and $550.

Why Was This Product Recalled?

Grass and debris can accumulate inside the recalled trimmer mowers during operation and come into contact with hot engine components. When this occurs, the accumulated material can ignite. DR Power has received 19 confirmed fire incidents — two of which resulted in burn injuries including blisters to the hands and feet of operators. Trimmer mowers are often used in close proximity to the user’s body, making a fire event particularly dangerous.

What Should You Do?

Stop using the recalled DR Power Pilot and Premier Trimmer Mowers immediately. Contact DR Power Equipment for a free repair kit. If you are not comfortable installing the repair kit yourself, DR Power will arrange a free installation at an authorized dealer. Call toll-free at 800-854-3194, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET, email recall@drpower.com, or visit drpower.com/recalls.
