Eden Brothers LLC of Arden, North Carolina, is recalling Eden Brothers Calabrese Broccoli Seeds because its supplier informed the company that the seeds may be contaminated with Salmonella. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) posted the company announcement on October 7, 2026. The seeds were sold online through EdenBrothers.com and Amazon.com from July 8 through September 28, 2026, depending on size, and were shipped to home gardeners nationwide.
What’s Being Recalled?
The recall covers Eden Brothers Calabrese Broccoli Seeds in three sizes: a seed packet (item code SVBRO111-qb1), a 1-ounce bag (item code SVBRO111-qb2), and a 1-pound bag (item code SVBRO111-qb4). All three sizes are from Eden Brothers lots 1022067 and 1022068, which came from supplier lot W4105. They carry a use-by year of 2026. The lot number is printed on the seed packet or bag.
Why Was This Product Recalled?
Eden Brothers was notified by its seed supplier that the seeds may be contaminated with Salmonella. Salmonella can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy people may experience fever, severe headache, nausea, stomach pain, and diarrhea. In rare cases, the infection can enter the bloodstream and cause more serious illness. Eden Brothers has stopped selling the affected lots and is notifying customers directly. No illnesses have been reported so far.
What Should You Do?
Stop using the recalled seeds right away. Do not plant, sprout, eat, or share them, and do not use them to grow microgreens. Seal the seeds in a bag and throw them away in your household trash rather than your compost. Wash your hands and any surfaces or containers that touched the seeds. If you shared seeds with anyone, let them know about the recall. Eden Brothers is offering a full refund through a recall reply form linked in its announcement. Customers with questions can contact Eden Brothers Customer Service at 855-440-2929, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern, or email service@edenbrothers.com.
