Flowers Foods, Inc. is recalling Nature’s Own Hawaiian Bread in two sizes after a review of production records revealed certain packages did not declare milk as an ingredient. The recall was announced October 2, 2026. No illnesses or incidents have been reported. The recalled product was distributed to retail customers — including Walmart — in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Why Was This Product Recalled?
During a review of production records, Flowers Foods discovered certain packages of Nature’s Own Hawaiian Bread were produced without milk being declared on the label, despite the product containing milk. Milk is one of the nine major food allergens under federal law. For consumers with a milk allergy or sensitivity, consuming undeclared milk can trigger reactions ranging from hives and digestive distress to severe anaphylaxis requiring emergency treatment.
What Should You Do?
Check the best-by date and product code on any Nature’s Own Hawaiian Bread purchased recently in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, or Texas. If your bread has a best-by date between October 8 and October 18, 2026, and you have a milk allergy, do not eat it. Return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Contact Flowers’ Consumer Relations Center at 1-866-245-8921, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.
