The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service has issued a public health alert for Grace Ready to Eat Chicken Vienna Sausages after discovering the products were illegally imported from Jamaica — a country that is not eligible to export meat or poultry products to the United States. The alert was issued October 6, 2026. No confirmed illnesses or injuries have been reported. The products were distributed to retail locations in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, and Texas. FSIS is concerned some cans may still be in consumers’ pantries.
What’s Being Alerted?
Two products are included in this public health alert, both sold in 140-gram cans:
GRACE READY TO EAT CHICKEN VIENNA SAUSAGES
GRACE READY TO EAT CHICKEN VIENNA SAUSAGES HOT & SPICY
Both products bear the establishment number “EST. NO G-01” inside the Jamaica mark of inspection. The products were distributed by an importer to retail locations in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, and Texas.
Why Was This Alert Issued?
Jamaica is not on the USDA’s list of countries eligible to export meat or poultry products to the United States, meaning the products have not gone through the mandatory federal import inspection process that verifies safety, proper labeling, and compliance with U.S. standards. Without that inspection, the USDA cannot verify the products’ safety. The importer’s identity and how the products entered U.S. commerce are part of an ongoing investigation. This is the third “illegally imported” meat alert we have covered in 2026, following the Maple Leaf bacon recall in July and the Star Meat Delivery recall in September.
What Should You Do?
Do not eat the recalled Grace Chicken Vienna Sausages or Grace Chicken Vienna Sausages Hot & Spicy. Throw them away or return them to the place of purchase. Contact the importer at 305-887-9523 or purecaribbeandist@gmail.com. Consumers with food safety questions may call the USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline at 888-MPHotline (888-674-6854).
