Star Meat Delivery Inc. of Lucama, North Carolina, is recalling approximately 167,639 pounds of raw meat after the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service discovered the products were produced without the benefit of federal inspection and bear a false USDA mark of inspection. The recall was announced September 22, 2026, and classified Class I — the USDA’s highest health risk level. No illnesses or injuries have been reported. The products were distributed to restaurants and retailers nationwide through A&D Foods, a distributor in Georgia.
What’s Being Recalled?
Twenty-three products are included, all raw vacuum-sealed pork, beef, and goat items packed in various weight cardboard boxes and distributed under the A&D Foods label. Products include items such as sliced ribeye, beef chuck, beef oxtail, beef short ribs, ground pork, pork chorizo, pork chops, pork ribs, pork feet, pork Boston butt, and goat meat in various cuts. All affected products carry a false USDA mark of inspection with establishment number “EST. 1363” — a number that does not have a valid federal grant of inspection. The products were produced on various dates before September 22, 2026. The FSIS will continue updating the product list as more information becomes available. A complete list is published at fsis.usda.gov.
Why Was This Product Recalled?
Federal law requires all commercially sold meat to be federally inspected and verified as safe, wholesome, and properly labeled before distribution. The recalled products were produced and distributed without this mandatory inspection, meaning their safety cannot be verified. The false USDA inspection marks on the packaging deceived retailers and consumers into believing the meat had been properly inspected. The USDA warns that the uninspected meat could contain undeclared allergens, harmful bacteria, or other contaminants posing a risk to consumer health and safety.
What Should You Do?
Do not eat the recalled meat. Be aware that individual consumer packages may not show the original “A&D Foods” or “EST. 1363” labels — retail stores may have repackaged and relabeled the meat with their own price and handling stickers. If you recently purchased raw pork, beef, or goat products that may have come from this supply chain, check the FSIS website at fsis.usda.gov for the full product list. Discard the product or return it to the place of purchase. Restaurants and retailers should not serve or sell the recalled meat. Contact the USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline at 888-MPHotline (888-674-6854) with questions.
