Stewart’s Shops Heavenly Medley And Vanilla-Chocolate-Strawberry Ice Cream Recalled Over Metal.

Stewart’s Shops Corp. of Saratoga Springs, New York, is recalling two flavors of its half-gallon ice cream, Stewart’s Shops Heavenly Medley and Stewart’s Shops Vanilla-Chocolate-Strawberry, because they may contain pieces of metal. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) posted the company announcement on October 2, 2026. The ice cream was sold at every Stewart’s Shops location in New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire. It has a seven-month shelf life, so cartons may still be in home freezers.

What’s Being Recalled?

The recall covers one-half gallon (1.89-liter) paperboard cartons of two flavors:

  • Stewart’s Shops Heavenly Medley, with a best-by date of Feb.10.27 and UPC 0 82086 44371 1.
  • Stewart’s Shops Vanilla-Chocolate-Strawberry, with a best-by date of Feb.11.27 and UPC 0 82086 44377 3.

Both flavors were sold at all Stewart’s Shops locations in New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire between July 17, 2026 and October 2, 2026.

Why Was This Product Recalled?

The recall began after a customer found a metal object inside a half-gallon carton of the ice cream. Metal fragments in food can cut or injure the mouth, teeth, and throat, and can be especially dangerous if swallowed. No injuries or illnesses have been reported so far. The company is conducting the recall with the knowledge of the FDA.

What Should You Do?

Check your freezer for half-gallon cartons of Stewart’s Shops Heavenly Medley or Stewart’s Shops Vanilla-Chocolate-Strawberry with the best-by dates and UPC codes listed above. If you have either product, do not eat it. Return it to any Stewart’s Shops location for a full refund. You do not need to return it to the same store where you bought it. Customers with questions can contact Robin Cooper at Stewart’s Shops at 518-248-0455 or rcooper@stewartsshops.com. If you ate the ice cream and believe you were injured, contact a healthcare provider.
