Sydney, 1982. Lyn Dawson is a young mother who disappears without a trace. No body. No note. Just a husband, Chris Dawson, who quietly moves his teenage student — the family babysitter — into the house within weeks.

The Teacher's Pet, hosted by journalist Hedley Thomas, spent years digging into what police couldn't close. The podcast became a phenomenon, pulling in tips, witnesses, and old friends who'd stayed silent for decades. Thomas's reporting didn't just retell the case — it actively reshaped it, pressuring authorities to take another look at a disappearance everyone had written off as unsolvable.

Chris Dawson was eventually convicted of Lyn's murder in 2022, a conviction that came directly out of the renewed attention this series generated — proof that podcasts can do more than entertain. But even with a conviction on record, Lyn's body has never been found, and the family is still searching for that final piece.

Start from episode one tonight and listen on Spotify, or find it on any podcast app.
