Goplus Corporation, doing business as Costway, of Fontana, California, is recalling about 3,332 Costway Convertible High Chairs, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced on October 22, 2026. The CPSC says the chairs violate the mandatory safety standard for high chairs and pose a risk of serious injury or death. No incidents or injuries have been reported.
What's Being Recalled?
The recalled products are Costway Convertible High Chairs, designed to convert into a table and chair set. The CPSC says they came in several color combinations, including purple and white, red and white, blue and white, and brown and white, so other color combinations may also be affected. The chairs were made in China. They were sold at Walmart and Target stores nationwide and online at Costway.com from May 2023 through July 2026 for between $84 and $100. The CPSC page lists no lot codes, UPCs, model numbers or best-by dates, and says the products carry no tracking information, so check the product name, design and purchase date.
Why Was This Product Recalled?
The high chairs have no passive restraint system. According to the CPSC, a child can slip through the opening between the feeding tray and the seat and become entrapped or fall. The agency warns this poses a risk of serious injury or death. Because the chairs fail the mandatory standard for high chairs, young children using them are the ones at risk.
What Should You Do?
The CPSC says consumers should stop using the recalled high chairs immediately and contact Costway for a free replacement. Costway will ask for a receipt or a photo of the product, then send a prepaid label to return the recalled chair. The free replacement ships after Costway receives the recalled product. Contact Costway toll-free at 844-242-1885, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. PT, Monday through Friday, or email recall@costway.com.
