The CPSC says Opal Vista Ltd., doing business as usOpal, is recalling about 200 Xalirium Adult Portable Bed Rails. The agency announced the recall on October 15, 2026 (recall number 27-029) because the rails violate the mandatory federal standard for adult portable bed rails. No incidents or injuries have been reported.
What's Being Recalled?
The recalled rails have a white frame with black foam rubber grips and come with a black fabric pouch. They measure about 17.15 inches high, 4.33 inches wide and 1.99 inches long. The word "Xalirium" is printed on the label of the product packaging. Only bed rails without vertical bars inside the opening are included. The rails were sold on Amazon.com from February 2026 through August 2026 for about $60. The CPSC lists the firm as being of China, and the product was manufactured in China.
Why Was This Product Recalled?
According to the CPSC, when the rails are attached to a bed, users can become entrapped within the rail or between the rail and the side of the mattress. The agency calls this a serious entrapment hazard with a risk of death by asphyxiation. The rails also fail the structural stability and retention strap requirements, which poses a fall hazard. In addition, they lack the required hazard warning labels.
What Should You Do?
Stop using the recalled bed rails immediately and contact usOpal for a full refund. The CPSC says consumers will be asked to cut the black storage bag and straps, cut the foam padding on the rails, and write "RECALLED" on the upper and lower bed rails. Then email a photo of the marked rails to xaliriumofficial@outlook.com and dispose of the product. The CPSC page lists no phone number for the company. For questions about the recall, you can call the CPSC hotline at 800-638-2772 (TTY 800-638-8270).
