RootStim LLC is recalling about 11,000 RootStim minoxidil hair regrowth treatment bottles because they are not in child-resistant packaging, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) says. The company, RootStim LLC of New York, announced the recall on October 29, 2026 (CPSC Recall 27-058). No injuries have been reported.
What's Being Recalled?
The recall covers three RootStim minoxidil products made in China. They were sold only online at Amazon.com from August 2025 through February 2026 for between $20 and $40. Each UPC is on a label on the bottom of the box. The affected products and UPCs are:
- RootStim 5% Minoxidil Foam Hair Regrowth Treatment with Rosemary and Biotin, 6 fl. oz., three 2 fl. oz. pump-foam bottles in a blue and white box with an orange accent, UPC 810169130594
- RootStim Minoxidil Hair Regrowth Treatment 5% Minoxidil Rosemary & Biotin, 2 fl. oz. spray, one spray-pump bottle in a magenta box, UPC 810169301005

Why Was This Product Recalled?
The products contain minoxidil, which must be sold in child-resistant packaging under the Poison Prevention Packaging Act. These bottles are not child-resistant. CPSC says that poses a risk of serious injury or death from poisoning if young children swallow the contents. The products violate the mandatory standard for child-resistant packaging.
