The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) says NTI and HTP residential gas boilers made by Ariston Canada Inc. (formerly NTI Boilers Inc.) are being recalled. About 4,726 units were sold in the U.S., and another 2,261 in Canada. CPSC warns of a risk of serious injury or death from fire, carbon monoxide poisoning and impact hazards. The recall was announced October 29, 2026, in conjunction with Health Canada.
What's Being Recalled?
The recall covers NTI residential gas boilers in the FTVN and TFTN model series, and HTP residential gas boilers in the EFTU model series. NTI units are gray, and HTP EFTU (Elite Fire Tube Ultra) units are black. They are metal, rectangular units with NTI or HTP printed on the front. The serial number is on the rating plate on the left-hand side of the boiler. They were sold nationwide through independent heating and plumbing contractors and wholesale distributors from May 2021 through July 2026 for between $3,200 and $7,700. The affected models and serial number ranges are:

Why Was This Product Recalled?
CPSC says the condensate dish inside the boiler can crack during a delayed ignition. That lets unburned gas build up inside the sealed cabinet, and if the gas ignites, the front cover can suddenly detach. The firm has received 34 reports of the condensate dish breaking, including three in which the front cover detached. In one incident, a technician servicing the boiler sustained a broken jaw. No deaths were reported.
What Should You Do?
Stop using the recalled boilers immediately and check the rating plate serial number against the list above. Contact Ariston to schedule a free repair by a certified technician. Call 800-688-2575 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, or email VCexchanger@ariston.com. NTI owners can visit ntiboilers.com/safety-recalls, and HTP owners can visit htproducts.com/safety-notice.html. If you must keep using the boiler while waiting for repair, CPSC advises having working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in the home.
